Our bitter freeze in February is showing around town in the form of very brown plants that will never be quite the same. Everywhere you look, there are brown leaves, dead or semi-dead plants. Many of these plants are semi-tropical imports.

My yard did suffer some die back, but my hardy Texas native plants did not suffer. They are still green and welcoming spring with new growth and some are even blooming.

Now is the best time to replace the dead plants your builder planted with native plants that will improve the habitat for birds, insects, pollinators and other wildlife. Native plants will survive freezes and require less water and maintenance once they are established.

Thornscapes has native plants that can replace your dead hedges. Give us a call!
