OUR PLANTS

Thornscapes strives for only the finest quality plants that meet our strict requirements. Some of the native plants we proudly grow and sell to be used as security hedges include mimosa, spiny hackberry, retama, ebony, condalia, and huisache. We research native and regionally adapted plants to determine which plants are most likely to provide the best combination of all these features:

  • Drought tolerant
  • Heat tolerant
  • Lush root systems
  • Pest and insect tolerant
  • Woody stems and branches
  • Disease tolerant
  • Disturbed soils tolerant
  • Thorns, prickles, spines or leaves with teeth
  • Freeze tolerant
  • Good growth rate
